Kerbal Bike Program

My rating: 4 out of 5

I think I hit 25 going uphill today. But I’ll never know this stuff until I put my bike computer back on. All the little parts are in, let’s see…four different locations in my house probably. Then when I find the little parts I’ll probably be annoyed about getting it set up and all the calibration and ergonomics and stuff. Then I’ll get the dumb thing on and all perfect, and I’ll get hit by a golf cart or something.

Toward the end of my ride, the farmer’s market downtown was closing, and there wasn’t much foot traffic, so I decided to slowly ride through and check it out. They had some delicious-looking cakes (sold by the slice) and breads out there, and of course I’m maybe a mile from home thinking, “don’t I need to carbo-load or whatever? Isn’t that a thing people do when they ride bikes?” Ha ha. Maybe after another 30 miles, buddy. Anyway, great little ride, went fast, had fun.

Then it was our service day thing for the church at 9 a.m. It was pretty cool—we made some improvements to Observatory Park, a former international latitude observatory. I was pretty excited that we got to put up a new fence and work on the portion of the park that seemed to need improvement last time I walked through. When you put in some time improving a place that actually means something to you, you feel a lot more interested in what’s going on.

So anyway after all that I really needed a shower.
