Hi..
Some of you got recently invited to "Linked In" by me. I did not actually mean to. I don't mind if you just delete the invitations.
personally I find their aggressive expansion policy somewhat dubious and it makes me wonder a bit, what their innermost purpose might be after all... But then again some might find that service useful.
Sorry for the inconvinience, if any

That was me!
I was wondering where you got my email from in that network.
Sorry for following that invitation!
Greetings

Actually what happened was that I got an invitation to LinkedIn from a friend, I haven't heard from in a while. That happened at my work e-mail.
I decided to see what it was about and sooner than I realized (as a part of following the profile creation wizard), I managed to send out invitations to everybody whose e-mail address was in my g-mail/sent folder. That included a few customer services and mail-order companies...
But, no problem, Harald, if you feel like belonging to LI, by all means.

How did they get to your mail-folder so fast? Moreover, how -- and why -- did they get to your mail-folder at all?
Maybe it's not that bad that I avoid the so called "Web 2.0".
Looks like Linked In is another example of the thing called "Datenkrake" (buzzword in current german political discussions meaning a giant organization collecting every data it can)...

Hi,
..but the battle against those organisations has just begun. I've heard something about websites with so called suicide-programms. They help you to kill your virtual identity. They remove your data directly from the server of those organisations. The organisations - especially Facebook - are not amused of course
Kind regards
Siri

They have a system, that helps a new member to "build up his personal network". That includes a possibility to get contact information from the user's www-based e-mails and send invitations to them.
I did not have to go along with it and I could have effected the mailing list, but it just went so fluently, that I did not realize what was going on, before it happened. Especially, when this was one of the first steps to be taken and I had not yet quite grasped how the thing was working. (Needless to say that my mind probably was a little bit somewhere else at that point
)
Well, I guess I'll keep my accout there for a while at least and see, if it is of any use to me.
