I feel naked without my Letherman!
Started with the 'Original' then two models of the PST, then Wave and now I own a Letherman Charge Ti, fortunately thay are available on mail order on the net! They charge(!) almost twice as much for them here in Sweden compared to USA. No problems the warranty either.

Wow, that Leatherman Charge looks like a nice one. I have the Victorinox Swisstool, and it is very hard to get the individual tools out without ripping off your fingernails. Other than that, though, it makes a very good hammer.

I just have the wave, I use it at work all the time. I carry a Swiss Army knife just about every where I go.

Hmmm... I have a 5$ sort-of-swiss-knife which is very simple and is mainly a foldable pair of scissors with knife and some other less useful utilities at the "handles". Low quality, but works pretty well. Had it for more than a year now and still hasn't failed yet.
Never heard of Leatherman, but I strongly recall victorinox. I used to break my nails on those too

Yummy - my better half made soup from the inside!
And tomorrow some pumkin muffins...
Two names of endearment you can call your better half: 'Pumpkin' and 'Muffin'.
But I prefer "Infection Girl".

What does it mean? No chance fpor my dictionary to make some sense out of it...

It's a name of endearment, like 'Pumpkin' or 'Muffin', in keeping with my avatar. A little "forensic" perhaps. :)
Now that I have you here, and we're on about avatars, I've been meaning to ask you if you might have a 3D model of the front of a very old car that you'd be interested in sharing with me for (hopefully) an AoI splash page for ver. 2.3. An old Mini Austin would suffice, but something around the time of when neon signage became popular would be even better. :)

Hehe, I tried to model an old Austin once...

This is an old (but still worth looking at) tutorial by a famous Truespace User Andy Kay* - he now uses C4D but still has an
open mind for other Truespace Users and is very helpful.
I would like to do something similar (or better?) in AOI once the reference images have been implemented (I can hear some people roar).
- Just because i´m no artist and keeping the scale is to hard for me without reference.
Harald
BTW:
If i would call my beloved better half "pumpkin" or "muffin" she might think that something´s wrong with her shape...
* Andy is also a mod in the speed modeling challenges @ threedy.com

Thanks... I checked it out, but hesitated downloading the files that were on there, in case they were just 2D schematics rather than renderable 3D parts.

We should try a car that modelers have rarely tackled. What about a precursor to the automobile-- to the machine that would ultimately prove a bit of a bane on the world?

Possibly. :) ...But you could turn that into an opportunity. :)

Even the wheels will be fun to model and hard to texture (aged wood and so on).
Those things are good to model even without precise knowledge of the scale.
I´m just guessing - not that I´ve tried it so far.
That really could be a nice Splashscreen for AOI!

It sure could... Scale aside, could we model something like that with just that picture? Maybe there are others from different angles.
Edit:
Yes, there are!

..."The vehicle carried a front mounted boiler and a two-cylinder engine located over the front wheel. Cugnot's vehicle worked but needed to stop every 10 - 12 minutes to rebuild enough steam pressure to continue. The vehicle had a top speed of 2mph and eventually caused the world's first automobile accident when it ran out of control and demolished a garden wall..."
:D
I love it, it's perfect.
We could have a collaboration.

Well - Richard, let´s see what we can do about that.
Collaboration sounds promising.
We have to splitting the 3wheeler in the main parts and fit it together then?
Be warned: I´m building a house right now - so my modeling time is eventually = my lunch time at the office
That means it could take a while.
It´s now 24:00 (midnight) around here , - maybe I have some more time on sunday evening.
Some thought: Degree of detail, maybe just a clay model first (no textures),
The crash reminds me on the first car accidents where poeple where hurt or brougth to death.
In those days the cars were slower than 10 km/h... much slower than carriage with horses.

Clearly there are lots of great sites and reference images to work with, even including some internal schematics!
I think a casual, leisurely collaboration as time permits would be perfectly fine, and a fun challenge. What do you guys think?
We could even put it on our resumes and use it for our portfolios. Very impressive.
Well why not?
Eventually, we could even re-create the crash... and sell it to some museums.
